Riverfront developments

MetroPulse has the story on developers working to transform the much-beleaguered riverfront (adjacent to downtown) and getting input from South Knox residents... This is fantastic, and exactly what we have to do to create sustainable development in Knoxville. I applaud the developers and residents for everything they're doing. Let's do more of this, and get the media in sync with the progress.

Perfect! First of all, I love South Knoxville. Second, "regular" (north of the river) Knoxville, in typical shortsighted fashion, totally ruined their potential for a cool riverfront by installing a fucking superhighway (well, almost) alongside of it in the form of Neyland Dr. (I will admit, Neyland is one of the funnest places to drive really fucking fast, though.) This necessitates the admirable riverfront park they made to have elevator service to give it the slightest semblance of pedestrian access. Ughhh! You could live in Maplehurst and still have to drive to the freaking riverfront! So, let's try not to fuck this one up too bad for South Knox. Thats all they need, another black eye...
