Steve Ingram at World Grotto

So a while back our buddy Wise posted about Steve Ingram. Since then we've had two comments. Steve has made an impact, it seems. He's the kind of character that makes a scruffy little city like ours more interesting than, say, Wartburg. Nothing against them, of course.

Anyway, you can see some of Steve's art on his website. Plus, he's going to have some pieces at the World Grotto on May 5, which is just around the corner. I hope to be there, if not on the 5th, perhaps that Saturday, or later that week (during the day).

Also, Brian Irwin got us caught up on Steve's goings-on in the comments. I'm going to copy them here, so they aren't buried. It's worth a read. Knoxville just keeps gettin' cooler...

"Well, folks, Stev-o is still in the mix. I am a very good friend of Steves' perhaps one of the last. I have seen his home videos of his dogtown days of skate, and he was a ninja.

Steve finally did sucuumb to reality therapy, but he still produces art, he is having an upcoming gallery showing at the World Grotto, which will feature both old and new works. I suggest you save your penny's... He is str8 up a genius on both the board and the canvas.

Steve is a rare person, although outwardly he is unassuming, internally he is hard as nails to this day, He is slowly rebuilding his life and although skating is a passion he is realizing that his art is his legacy.

I too have a number of his works, old and new, all are in my bedroom where I live with them. They are alive, Steve is alive, and he is a beautiful dude... We should all be happy to know crazy Steve.

Come see his show, which will display the magazine cover piece. peacb"

Sir Real's work is fantastic...makes me wish I had many thousands of dolars to spend filling walls with his spooky girls and butterflies and landscapes.
You must go check out this show!
