Fountain City Connections

I notice there's a proposal to require new buildings to include sidewalks. Naturally, developers balk at the cost. This is natural, as no one wants to incur more cost. Unfortunately, with the price of gas on the rise, we could future-proof our city with just such a requirement. This becomes an appealing talking point when evangelizing Knoxville as a place to settle down (tax base, hello!).

Anyway, from the Knoxville News Sentinel article I discovered a group in my neck of the woods who appear to be spearheading the initiative: Fountain City Connections. I missed the last meeting but hope to make it to the next one!

UPDATE: Looks like urbanism is coming back in style.
