Campfield v LaLonde debate funds Choices, a pro-life center

I have no problem with people funding Choices, a pro-life "resource" center which claims to be a place to go when you would normally go to Planned Parenthood. I do have a problem with my money going to Choices. Unfortunately, in my haste to see a debate between Campfield and anyone over the IQ of -10, I paid $25 to an Indiegogo campaign to "support" this debate with former local radio host J. Lalonde.

Indiegogo flatly denies any hope of a refund. The refund is completely up to the organizers, but I doubt I'll get one.

Lalonde posted on his tumblr about how this was basically a compromise. And I get that -- politics is built on compromise. Compromise isn't easy. This is probably why I don't get into politics. I am not one to compromise my values. In this case I did, and I hate that.

Perhaps I'll just donate my time and 4x as much to Planned Parenthood. That way everyone wins! Except my kids, who like to eat.

Told you this would be a thing

KPD officers under investigation for beating a handcuffed suspect on Grainger Ave, February 9. While WBIR doesn't name the person who reported this, I'm pretty sure I did in my earlier report.

She's the same person whose son died at the hands of thugs and KPD has been really terrible about apprehending the culprits or even approaching a solution to the epidemic they don't want to acknowledge exists in Knoxville.

How to do an audit

Knox News-Sentinel reporter Jamie Satterfield visited two schools today which were right next to each other. One had a buzzer, the other had nothing and she was able to walk in completely unnoticed.

So here's a thought. Maybe, instead of meeting after meeting after meeting after blowhard media baloney spew, our fine leaders just go VISIT the schools. Or, I dunno, maybe ask the principals to send them an email. Here's a questionnaire I wrote up that could expedite matters (because making a questionnaire via government agencies would probably take half a decade and require 4 contractors, 2 of whom would immediately come under investigation for being a cousin of someone who writes checks).

QUESTIONS FOR PRINCIPALS AT KNOX COUNTY SCHOOLS:
- Do you have locks on the doors which open to the outside? Y/N
- Are those doors locked down in any way (buzzer, intercom, personnel) during school hours? Y/N
- Is there any procedure for allowing or preventing someone to enter your school? Y/N

Three questions. With those three questions school administration will have no problem immediately identifying the "red line" or top priority schools in the most need of a basic set of security protocols (you know, simple things like working locks on doors).

Cost to implement? Zero dollars if sent via email by a full time staffer.

But why be simple? Because every day they waste is an open invitation to mayhem. As we've seen over and over again, nothing will change until something horrible happens. Sad that common sense, reason and scientific/business methods seem to elude the grasp of our elected and appointed "leaders."

Maybe Sterchi can put some bells on it

So one school got an Airphone. But Sterchi still has... Bupkus! Prioritization? Hey, why be public with plans for taxpayer money, you know?

I think it's great that Knoxville, after weeks of news about the disgraceful state of security at our schools, goes to work and installs ONE SYSTEM IN ONE SCHOOL.

I think I missed the part in the Constitution where freedom = murder

You know that whole "freedom of speech" thing? Yeah, in Knoxville supporting a locally unpopular president can actually incite the local population to murderous rages. Witness:

This is completely unacceptable behavior. I hope that driver is hospitalized and gets the mental care he so clearly needs. You don't (in this case attempt to) murder a family for having a bumper sticker!

Knox News-Sentinel has the story. This is a big mess because of mistrust and impropriety, but good for the responsible parties who are intent on getting some situational awareness sooner rather than later.
